Aganovich and The “Why” of NeoGothic Beauty

For all the times you’ve said a thing was beautiful, did you really know why you felt that way? Or did you task Future You with deciding why that was exactly?

Last week, as I found myself drooling over Aganovich’s entire Fall ’16 RTW, I had the rare opportunity to really think about that idea. Continue Reading

Alexandre Plokhov: Master of Shadows

Oh, hey Alexandre Plokhov. Didn’t see you there, since you layered black on black, and set yourself up in front of a black background… at night, probably.

Not making fun of you, or anything. I am after all, a recovering NYC Goth. I know all about black on black on black just for the hell of it.  I’m just saying that if you’re trying to sneak up on homegirl, you probably should do it in pieces I’m more likely to ignore.

The All Saints Cloning Initiative

Good news everyone! All Saints has mastered human cloning. They found the one model they really liked, and just cloned the shit out of her.

I’m kidding. Yes, it’s the same model over and over in the same nondescript parking lot. Marc by Marc Jacobs X 15 Year Old Her Infernal Majesty

I mean, alright. When you think about it, that probably wasn’t so hard. If I’m being perfectly honest, he could have just come over and asked the current iteration of me (so, you know, me) what she thought. Not that much has changed, and he would have saved some mileage on the old Delorian. Continue Reading

Spring 2014: It’s All Up For The Deranged Rockstar

So…have you been keeping up with the Fashun weeks, and the very glamorous guys and gals that grace it? If you have, you should seriously start a blog or something.

I mean, hey. I didn’t get to rub shoulders with Kanye, Ms. Wintour, or Lady Gaga this year (they all have really overzealous bodyguards). But I did comb through buckets of photos and came up with some pretty interesting ideas.

Here is my thesis, English Majors: wouldn’t it be awesome my four favorite designers of the season joined powers and chronicled the rise and fall of a rockstar purely in terms of her possible sartorial choices?
Short Answer for the Cliff Notes Kids: Yes, it would be freakin’ awesome.  In fact, I’m just going to pretend that that’s exactly what they did, if it’s all the same to you.
