“You know what I wish someone would make?” said I, as I had my last sip of chai, and calmly entered the Fatality command code (ahem…excuse me, Kode) that would in a few moments impale my defeated opponent onto something decidedly hot and/or sharp.
“What?” said my aforementioned, and now horribly impaled and/or decapitated opponent.
“A fighting game,” said I, “With like, Batman and Superman, and Wonder Woman and The Flash, and maybe Catwoman- “
“Um…they already have that,” said my opponent, who was clearly just feeling a bitter infusion of sodium at this point. “It’s called Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Univ-“
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I kindly interjected. “But now that you mention it, I did hear that something called Injustice: Gods Among Us is coming out next April. And man does it look tasty.”
“Don’t you mean Toasty?”
Since it was clear by then that my opponent was as proficient at jokes as he was at Mortal Kombat, my next comment was aimed at urgently suggesting a brush up on the latter.
It was truly the least he could do, since as evidenced by the video above, Mortal Kombat creators, NeatherRealm Studios are firmly in the driver’s seat, and are quite literally pulling no punches on this one.
As for me, I’ll be busy getting my Harley Quinn voice ready for showtime. I’m all for the sound effects.
